HorsePower Communications is a North Texas firm owned and managed by Holly Becka, a former investigative journalist with 20 years of communications experience and expertise in public relations consulting, project management, writing and editing. Holly has extensive experience managing simultaneous, complex projects and exceeding her clients’ expectations.

Prior to starting her firm, Holly was a communications consultant for a prestigious civil engineering firm, leading all communications efforts on several high-profile transportation projects in North Texas. She worked on the communications staff at the McKinney Chamber of Commerce and served for more than a decade as an award-winning reporter for The Dallas Morning News. Before joining The News, Holly was a reporter at two daily newspapers and a TV station in Texas. Because of her background, Holly is skilled at recognizing and creating opportunities for positive press for an organization, as well as anticipating threats that could generate negative attention.
